Once upon a time. One day, Grandpa planted a turnip and said:
— Grow, grow, my turnip, be sweet, be strong!
Days passed, and Grandpa's turnip grew into a very, very big turnip. Grandpa came to pull out the turnip. He pulled and pulled, but he couldn't pull it out.
Grandpa called Grandma for help. Grandma held onto Grandpa, and Grandpa held onto the turnip. They pulled and pulled, but they couldn't pull it out.
Grandma called the Grandchild for help. The Grandchild held onto Grandma, Grandma held onto Grandpa, and Grandpa held onto the turnip. They pulled and pulled, but they couldn't pull it out.
The Grandchild called Toplan for help. Toplan held onto the Grandchild, the Grandchild held onto Grandma, Grandma held onto Grandpa, and Grandpa held onto the turnip. They pulled and pulled, but they couldn't pull it out.
Toplan called Məstan for help. Məstan held onto Toplan, Toplan held onto the Grandchild, the Grandchild held onto Grandma, Grandma held onto Grandpa, and Grandpa held onto the turnip. They pulled and pulled, but they couldn't pull it out.
Məstan called the mouse for help. The mouse held onto Məstan, Məstan held onto Toplan, Toplan held onto the Grandchild, the Grandchild held onto Grandma, Grandma held onto Grandpa, and Grandpa held onto the turnip.
They pulled and pulled — and they pulled out the turnip!
The Tale of the Turnip teaches us a simple, yet very valuable truth — a task that seems difficult alone becomes easy together. Grandpa couldn't pull out the turnip by himself, then with Grandma, then with the whole family, but when even the smallest and seemingly weakest mouse came to help, all their combined effort bore fruit and the turnip came out.
This is a beautiful embodiment of the proverb "Strength is in unity" — no matter how small, everyone's help is valuable, and where there is unity, even the biggest obstacle is overcome.
