In one of the distant and dense forests, there was a small hut. In this hut, the cat and the sparrow Qoçaq, and the little boy Cuppulu lived together.
When the cat and the sparrow went hunting, Cuppulu stayed at home, cleaned the hut, prepared lunch, set the table, and waited for the cat and the sparrow.
The bushy-tailed fox had heard that when the cat and the sparrow went hunting, Cuppulu stayed home alone. The fox had long wanted to get Cuppulu under its teeth and chew him up. So, it started to watch the hut.
When the cat and the sparrow went hunting, they always instructed Cuppulu to close the door tightly from behind. Cuppulu always closed the door tightly from behind, but one time he forgot to close the door...
After Cuppulu finished his chores, he heard a sound from the steps. When he looked, he saw the fox coming. He was very scared, quickly went inside the oven and hid in a corner.
The fox ran towards the oven, put its paw inside the oven, pulled Cuppulu out from there, threw him on its back and took him to its home.
As soon as it reached home, it lit the oven to bake and eat Cuppulu. After the oven was well heated, it took the shovel in its hand and said to Cuppulu:
– Sit on the shovel!
Although Cuppulu was small, he was very clever. He quickly sat on the shovel, but spread his arms and legs so that he wouldn't fit into the oven.
– You haven't sat properly, – said the fox, using its sweet tongue.
Cuppulu replied:
– I can't sit any other way, dear auntie, show me how to sit, and I will sit like that.
The fox quickly jumped onto the shovel and curled up. Cuppulu was just waiting for this. He quickly put the fox into the oven and closed its mouth, and then quickly ran home.
At home, the cat and the sparrow were filled with sorrow. Suddenly, they heard Cuppulu's footsteps from the stairs. Cuppulu entered the hut, shouting:
– Here I am!
The cat and the sparrow were very happy. They hugged Cuppulu, then held hands and jumped around.
