In a small town, there lived a poor seamstress. This seamstress had a daughter. They lived in such poverty that the mother couldn't even find food to give to her little girl. They would have continued to live like this, but one day a miracle happened.
Early in the morning, the girl went to the forest to gather berries. She worked all day, gathering fruit, and in the evening, she returned home with a full basket, singing. As she was leaving the forest, an old woman appeared before her. The old woman said:
— My dear, give me some fruit!
The girl was very kind. Smiling, she offered the basket to the old woman:
— Granny, take as much as you want!
The old woman took only three pieces of fruit and said:
— Thank you, my dear. In return for your kindness, I give you this pot as a gift. Remember these words well: "One, two, three! Cook porridge!" Then this pot will cook delicious porridge for you. And after you've eaten your fill, say: "One, two, three! Stop cooking porridge!" The pot will stop cooking porridge.
The girl was overjoyed, thanked the old woman, and took the pot, running home. She told her mother what had happened. The mother hugged her daughter and said joyfully:
— We will never be hungry again!
And so, every day, they filled their bellies thanks to the pot.
One day, the girl was not home. Her mother was hungry, so she took the magic pot and said:
— One, two, three! Cook porridge!
Immediately, the pot began to make porridge. The porridge was so delicious that the mother couldn't stop eating. She was so engrossed that she forgot the magic words. And the pot continued to cook porridge.
The mother got scared and said:
— One, two, three! Pot, stop!
But the pot wouldn't stop. The porridge was already spilling onto the table. The mother shouted again:
— One, two, three! Pot, I said stop!
The porridge kept increasing and had already started spilling into the room. The mother began to shout again:
— One, two, three! I don't want porridge!
But the porridge increased even more and began to spill out the window into the street. As the porridge grew, it flooded the entire town, then started flowing like a river.
Just then, the girl rushed home and shouted:
— One, two, three! Stop cooking porridge!
Immediately, the pot stopped.
Oh, what a wonderful day it was! All the animals, birds, and townspeople ate their fill of this delicious porridge!
