One day, a farmer dropped his mitten in the forest.
A little mouse passing by saw the mitten on the ground and asked:
– Who lives in this cozy mitten?
No one answered the question, so the mouse went inside the mitten and started living there.
A rabbit was running in the forest. Suddenly, it saw the mitten, approached it and said:
– Who lives in this cozy mitten?
– It's me, the little mouse, I live here! And who are you?
– I am the hopping rabbit.
– Come, let's live together.
The rabbit went inside. Both of them started living inside the mitten.
A fox running in the forest saw the mitten, approached it and said:
– Who lives in this cozy mitten?
– It's us, the little mouse, and the hopping rabbit! And who are you?
– I am Brother Fox.
– Come live with us.
The three of them started living inside the mitten.
A bear was passing by. It also saw the mitten, approached it and said:
– Who lives in this cozy mitten?
– It's us, the little mouse, the hopping rabbit, Brother Fox, and the grey wolf! And who are you?
– I am the bear – I can roar.
– Come, you live with us too.
At this moment, a dog barked. The farmer appeared in the forest. The animals, frightened, ran off in every direction and hid. The dog, however, picked up the mitten from the ground and brought it to its owner.
