In one of the frosty winter towns, a grey wolf went hunting. He went towards the river. He saw a cat on the bank. The cat was sitting and fishing. Half of the bucket was full of fish.
The wolf wanted to take the fish from the cat when, at that moment, a fox appeared:
— Wolf, what are you doing? Have you lost your conscience from hunger? Anyway, the cat will share the fish with us.
— Oh, if you want, take it all, — said the cat, and then threw the fishing rod back into the river.
— Oh, thank you very much, — the fox rejoiced. — If that's the case, we can invite the bear too...
— You're right, Uncle Fox, — the wolf scratched his neck. — How can we not invite the bear?..
Uncle Fox divided the fish into three parts. He kept the smaller part for the wolf, and put the remaining two parts into a sack. He threw the sack over his back, wagging his tail, and ran towards the forest.
The cat looked at the wolf and said:
— Oh, you fool! Can anyone even trust a fox? What does a bear need fish for at this time of year? He sleeps in his den all winter.
Since that day, the enraged wolf has been chasing and looking for the fox, but still cannot catch him.
